Fifty Frozen Turkeys Donated To Food Bank For Thanksgiving Dinners By Aktion Club

Coeur d'Alene, ID - Members of the Kootenai County AKtion Club and their advisors from TESH, Inc. donated fifty frozen turkeys to the Community Action Partnership Food Bank on Wednesday, November 15. The club held a turkey drive, collecting donations from family members, care providers, and TESH staff. The club also raised $455 for the food bank to purchase turkeys, including a grant from the club for $350 as well as donations from TESH staff and the North Kootenai Good Sam Chapter of the Good Sam Club. The Kootenai County AKtion Club meets weekly at TESH, Inc. and is sponsored by the Coeur d'Alene Kiwanis Club.
Tesh Announces Openings In Day Care Program For Adults With Disabilities

Coeur d'Alene, ID - The Activity Center at TESH, Inc. is now offering day care services for eligible adults with disabilities in the Annex, located adjacent to the main complex on Industrial Avenue. The Activity Center program is an alternative for adults with disabilities who have reached a certain level of development and need a new environment to help them expand their physical and mental skills. A variety of activities are offered in a quiet, safe setting, including arts and crafts, board games, and classes in current events, social skills, and self-identity. Recreational outings such as picnics and drives in the country are also a part of the program.
The TESH Activity Center started offering services full time in February 2005. There was a growing need to serve TESH clients who weren't progressing developmentally in life skills classrooms. A quieter environment with different activities offered these clients more opportunity for advancement.
Eligibility for services depends on several requirements, including determination of developmental disability. Services are available to eligible individuals through Medicaid or self pay.
